Human Dog Sled Races Come to LGCT!

In Greenland or Alaska, the rhythmic beat of large paws can be heard across majestic landscapes. In Lake Geneva, boots pound the snow while cheers fill the crisp February air during the Annual Human Dog Sled Races.

This is a “can’t miss” one-of-a-kind event that Lake Geneva Canopy Tours (LGCT) and George Williams College (GWC) are thrilled to co-sponsor during Winterfest 2017!

What are the Human Dog Sled Races?

Think traditional dog sledding – with a twist. Each team consists of six people: which include four sled pullers, a sled rider and a sled pusher. All sleds and harnesses are provided. Simply, show up ready to race to the finish! Teams compete against each other in a double elimination tournament to determine the winners.

When is it?

Race day is Saturday, February 11, 2017 during Lake Geneva’s Winterfest, so start assembling your team today! Recruit friends, family, co-workers and take advantage of the Early Bird registration discount. The field will be capped at 16 teams. Prizes are awarded to First, Second & Third place winners, in addition to the most creative team attire.

Be sure to spread the word too – it always helps to have the biggest cheering section! This event is FREE to all spectators.
